About Us

The NewToolReviews.com website is simply the result of two passions … technology and tools. There are several places on the Internet that provide good reviews and solid information, and countless others that are nearly useless or obviously biased. Our hope with NewToolReviews.com is two-fold: (1) Provide fellow woodworkers, tool-junkies, DIYers, and such with our opinions about tools we have actually used in the hopes that it answers a question, advises a purchase, or adds some other value and (2) bring to get our hands on new tools just coming to market — from the big brand names to the new start-ups and everything in between.

Since we review both tools we use regularly and new-to-market tools, some of the tools will be covered in saw dust, wood chips, surface rust, sap, pitch and who knows what else.  That’s just what happens when a tool is actually used.  It gets a bit grimy out there!  We’ll do our best to clean up for the pictures … but some will have signs of the grime and we just think that adds an ounce of reality.

This website is provided as a service to YOU. And YOU may be able to provide a service to the website as well. It is not just about our opinions, it is about yours as well. Please post comments in the existing reviews — and better yet, if you have a tool you want to review and have us post — send it over and we will make that happen!

NOTICE: In life there are changes and mine it taking me from NC to FL.  My shop will be moved, and thus NTR will be down during this time (June 2010).  We’ll get things back up as quick as possible & reviews to soon follow thereafter!

Our Promise …

• Honest Reviews – Some review sites on the ‘net might as well be hitched to a manufacturer, or two. We aren’t. The goal is to provide real honest reviews — some will be positive, some not so much. That’s just how it is.
• Clear & Concise – We don’t want to read a Moby Dick sized review, and neither do you. We will provide clear, concise reviews that get to the point.  These aren’t “how to” articles … these are reviews!
• Reliable Information – We do our best to provide accurate information that you can rely on. When it comes to opinions, not everyone will agree — but when it comes to facts, there can only be one truth.
